This is Palmer Lake VFW's 7th annual suicide awareness 5K. Veterans assistance is one of the main focuses of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, and there is no better way to assist our brothers and sisters than bringing awareness to the issue of suicide in the military. We are partnering with the Project Delta, a wonderful non-profit organization that has changed the life of many Veterans and has brought a lot of awareness and education to PTSD and the trauma that many Veterans return home with.
The statistics on Veteran suicide are staggering. Each day 22 of our nation's Veterans take their own life. This is one veteran every 65 minutes! September is Military Suicide Awareness month and the Palmer Lake VFW is taking action right here in our own community by sponsoring our Seventh annual Veteran Suicide Awareness 5K Run/Walk. We have partnered with Project Delta organization which is Minnesota based non-profit that specializes in providing resources for veterans who struggle with mental health, combat stress, or PTSD. All of our race proceeds will go directly to Project Delta organization. Our hope is that through our combined efforts we can prevent one veteran from taking his or her life.

For a $1000 donation, your company will have a single color post logo on the back of the race day shirt and receive a complimentary 5K entry for six participants. For a $500 donation, your company will get recognition at the day of the event and receive a complimentary 5K entry for three participants. For a $250 donation, your company will get recognition at the day of the event and receive a complimentary 5K entry for one participant. Most importantly your generous donation will go directly to support the 23rd Veteran organization. The 5K run/walk will be on 13th September 2024 at 10:00 a.m. at Brookdale Park, 7650 June Ave N, Brooklyn Park, MN 55443. Businesses or Posts interested in making a donation, please make a donation by 1 September 2025 to allow time for printing the logo on shirts.
